Since 1980, thousands of people have enjoyed a long or short stay at Vammencamping.
Due to the small scale of the campsite and the advancing age of the campsite owners it became more increasingly difficult to keep the site running. Many people wanted to keep this unique place going. Therefore, in recent years a number of volunteers have contributed to make the campsite ready for the season. Maintenance work has been done on the small and big raft and the playground has been renovated
Many campers have responded positively to these activities. The Sluyterman family as owner of the site have also responded positively to these developments. They renewed the website and new elements were added to the recreation program.
A number of guests cannot be there in early May to help with the preparations, instead offering financial assistance which enables the volunteers to buy the materials they need to carry out the maintenance work.
To coordinate all this, the association ‘Friends of Vammencamping’ was founded.
